Tour through ancient villages driving Vespa
A fascinating itinerary among ancient villages where time seems to have stopped in the Middle Ages. Walking through the streets that have seen centuries of struggle between Pisani, Lucchesi and Fiorentini, our “centaurs” will take you to the castle of the Vicars of Laririsalente in the eleventh century, to the ancient Pieve of Palaia and the medieval settlement of Montefoscoli. Inevitable is the stop at the medieval village of Villa Saletta with the feud and the Clock Tower of 1200 still almost intact. The link between Valdera and the Vespa is very strong. Many things of the Valdera would not exist if the Vespa did not exist and the other way around. All this is easily deducible by visiting the first leg of our tour, the Piaggio Museum of Pontedera: the Vespa models forged by Piaggio, the photos, documents, registers and viewable artifacts recall the historical path of entire generations. After having made the formal acquaintance of the “Lady” of the two wheels, we move on to the practical side, mounting directly on the saddle of the discovery of her native land. At the end of the trip it will be a pleasure to relax the muscles in the warm waters of the Terme di Casciana pool
